City Mini Golf

I popped out for lunch today and stumbled across a new mini golf course right on my (office) doorstep. Its called London Mini Golf and it's inside the recently refurbished courtyard at Devonshire Square.

Great discovery, as we now have a new venue for another round of the mini golf tour and I have somewhere to practice at lunch time.

Only two snags; it was absolutely heaving with suited golfers and it's probably inflated City prices to play (but to be fair I didn't check, it might be a bargain).

Grand Slam Crazy Golf

Wimbledon Park Crazy Golf

We made a quick trip to Wimbledon Park's crazy golf course to tie in with two weeks of tennis madness.

I took six puts on the fourth hole and gifted Rachel the lead, but she couldn't take the pressure and handed it back by the 18th.

Ha ha! I win again and extend my lead to three games.

Also, not crazy golf but Wimbledon related; I was lucky enough to get Centre Court tickets for the final day of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. I tried to take some pics of Roger Federer vs Andy Roddick and some other stuff from the day:

Ilfracombe was the final stop in the Cornwall mini tour! Another beautiful day at another seaside location.

The course was fast since it was concrete and notable holes were the Nasa space shuttle which Kristian thought resembled something rude! Take a look at the pic and see for yourself!

It was neck and neck for the first five holes but Kristian started to take the lead and I ended up taking 6 shots for each of the last three holes which gave Kristian the win!

The following morning we happened across a remote farm called Berryfields where we indulged in the best Cornish Cream Teas. It was my first time and my fear of cream and jam was overcome especially since the scones were love heart shaped!

With full tums we proceeded to the crazy golf which we were informed was built in the 1960's and looked like nobody had played on it since then! It was a tricky 9 hole course as it was on concrete and many holes needed repair! Some odd little features included gnomes, Stars and Cats and the multi coloured mound! Still basking in the glory of the Padstow win, I started confidently but lost it all at the multi coloured mound. Kristian handled the difficult conditions better than myself and comfortably won!

Next stop was the gorgeous village of Padstow at Greens Cafe Crazy Golf.

After an EPIC 40 mile bike ride along the Camel Trail we decided to attack the crazy golf. A very picturesque little course, overlooking the bay. Main features include lighthouse, tyre hole and Castle.

The sweltering heat and fatigue from earlier bike exploits took its toll on Kris and all was lost on the dreaded pyramid hole.

There were a couple of hole in ones for Kris but this was not enough to beat an on form Rachel who won by ten shots! Perfect end to a perfect day!

Well we set off on our Cornwall Campervan trip and first stop was Bude for a round of Crazy golf! Only a nine hole course but we played twice to make up 18.

It is set in town on the seafront and there were some animal themed holes such as the bunny rabbit and snakes hole! It was closely fought in the first nine and there were a couple of hole in ones for both of us but unfortunately I (Rach) lost it on the darn bunny rabbit hole on the back nine and never recovered, therefore it was victory to Kristian! Boo Hiss!
